Early on in their frienship of over 20 years, Troy and Katie recognized their mutual love of all things “spicy.” Troy and Katie’s heat tolerance far out-matched their respective partners’.
In 2024, there was an inaugural exchange of spicy pickled red onions—Troy gifted Katie a jar of his homemade “hot” onions.; then Katie reciprocated with gifting Troy her version. Lo and behold, It’s Hot in Here was born. While their partners begged them to tone it down, Troy and Katie were confident that HEAT was their brand.
We hope you, too, can enjoy these delightfully caliente sweet pickled red onions—really on anything. And for the wimpy partners out there, go for the onions and skip the peppers—your palate will be happy and may evolve to join the ranks of us—the courageous heat seekers.
